Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has spoken publicly for the first time since a wave of controversy erupted involving him and his wife, Natasha Osawaru.
On Wednesday, the legendary singer posted a short but alarming message on his Instagram Story, writing simply: “Help me.”
The cryptic plea immediately sparked concern among fans and observers.
His message came shortly after his brother, Hyacinth Idibia, voiced his own worries on Instagram, sharing emotional lines inspired by one of 2Baba’s songs:
“You’ve always been ahead, always been brilliant. Lyrics meant to inspire, but somehow it’s unfolding in real time… Painful reality. Allow us save you Oyinem’. You’ve been suffering for too long. God knows.”
These public expressions of concern highlight a situation that has been building for weeks.
Arrest in London: What Led to the Incident
Tensions between 2Baba and Osawaru — a member of the Edo State House of Assembly — reportedly escalated during a recent trip to the United Kingdom.
According to accounts, a heated altercation between the couple drew the attention of British police, ultimately leading to 2Baba’s arrest.
The conflict resurfaced during an Instagram Live session hosted by broadcaster Daddy Freeze, where the couple was seen engaging in a tense verbal exchange.
During the session, the singer’s former managers, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, joined and made a series of damning allegations against Natasha Osawaru.
They accused her of attempting to assert “full control” over 2Baba’s life and career, describing her as someone prone to “fits of rage.”
The former managers also confirmed that the singer was indeed arrested by UK police during the London incident.
