After learning about serious allegations, including the assault of a pregnant woman, the former employee decided to trap the astrologer by installing a hidden camera inside his office.
Everything reportedly began when the victim, who was known to the whistleblower, shared her ordeal. After resisting the godman’s advances, she managed to escape from a dark room. Initially doubtful, the employee later began closely observing Kharat’s suspicious activities.
As concerns grew stronger, the whistleblower chose to act secretly. A surveillance device was installed inside the premises to document the alleged crimes. This decision would ultimately play a crucial role in advancing the investigation.
According to reports, nearly 100 videos were recorded. The footage allegedly shows multiple instances of sexual exploitation involving several victims. These recordings were later handed over to the police, significantly strengthening the case against Kharat.

Among those questioned are a priest linked to a temple associated with the suspect and a security guard based in Nashik. A staff member from Kharat’s office was also interrogated for several hours, highlighting the complexity of the investigation.
Ashok Kharat was arrested on March 18 following a complaint by a 35 year old woman. She accused him of repeated rape over a period of three years. Since then, investigators have uncovered the extent of his influence, including ties to political figures.
Authorities are also examining suspicious financial transactions, particularly involving land deals in the Nashik region. These findings could point to a broader network surrounding the self styled godman.
