Following their closeness during the AFCON 2025 third place match between Nigeria and Egypt in Morocco, rumors hinted that Eva Apio and Calvin Bassey are now an item.

The Ugandan-born British model, however, rubbished such reports, maintaining that she has been friends with Calvin Bassey since they were 16 years old in Newham.
