Fresh details have emerged about a woman in Ghana whose private video was shared online in connection with the viral Russian man known as Yaytseslav.

New information reaching this newsroom says the woman attempted suicide this morning after the videos surfaced, but she was discovered in time and is now receiving treatment in hospital.

According to sources, the woman became deeply distressed when clips of her private encounter with the man began circulating on social media.

The footage was reportedly among a set of videos the Russian man posted on public platforms, with longer versions available to paying subscribers on a private channel.

Friends and family say the sudden spread of the material left her feeling ashamed, exposed and overwhelmed.

This morning, worried relatives say she tried to end her life.

They found her before it was too late and rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors are treating her for injuries and emotional trauma.

Hospital staff have confirmed she is under care, but they have not released detailed medical updates because of patient confidentiality.

Community members and mental health advocates are calling for urgent support for the woman. They say she needs counselling and stronger privacy protections. “When intimate material is shared without consent, the emotional damage can be severe,” one advocate said. “Victims need immediate medical and psychological help, and the people who distribute such footage must be held accountable.”

The episode has intensified public anger over Yaytseslav’s actions. Since clips first appeared online, the Russian man has been accused of secretly recording private encounters with women across Africa and then sharing the footage.

Videos showing women from Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and other countries spread quickly on platforms like TikTok and YouTube.

Longer recordings were reportedly behind a paywall on a private messaging channel, where subscribers paid to view the full files.

Many relatives and viewers say the recordings have ruined lives and families.

“This man has destroyed many homes and lives,” a relative of one woman said.

Others have demanded that social media companies and payment platforms block the channels that sell the videos and help trace the uploader.

Tech experts note that the man often wore glasses that look like smart devices capable of discreet recording.

Devices such as Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, sold in Kenya for up to about KSh 60,000, can record video and audio while appearing to be ordinary eyewear.
