The online controversy surrounding Yaytseslav, identified as Vyacheslav Trahov, has sparked intense debate across Ghana and beyond. The alleged Russian national went viral after sharing controversial videos of his interactions with Ghanaian women — content that has since triggered public outrage and led to major changes on his social media accounts.
Who Is Yaytseslav?
Vyacheslav Trahov, widely known online as Yaytseslav, claims to be Russian and gained notoriety after videos of his activities in Ghana surfaced on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
The clips showed him frequenting popular areas in Accra, particularly around the Accra Mall, where he interacted with female shoppers and passersby.
According to reports circulating on social media, he would approach women, engage them in conversation, and in some cases convince them to exchange phone numbers. He later invited some of them to his apartment, where he allegedly recorded their private interactions using Meta smart glasses — without their consent.
Videos Uploaded on TikTok, YouTube and Telegram
After recording the encounters, Yaytseslav uploaded excerpts of the content to platforms such as TikTok and YouTube.
However, the full versions of the videos were reportedly shared on a private Telegram channel accessible through a paid subscription of $5 per month.
One viral TikTok video, which amassed more than 1.6 million views, showed a woman he met while shopping at Accra Mall accompanying him home with minimal conversation. The clip fueled widespread criticism, with many Ghanaians questioning how such activities could occur without intervention from authorities.
Public Outrage in Ghana
The videos sparked massive backlash on Ghanaian social media platforms. Users condemned the alleged invasion of privacy and raised concerns about consent, exploitation, and the country’s image.
Several commentators demanded investigations into how the foreign national was able to enter Ghana and operate openly without facing immediate scrutiny.
The controversy gained further traction when Ghanaian vlogger Clement Nana Asamoah, affiliated with Gossips 24 TV, revealed the man’s identity online.
He shared footage allegedly showing Yaytseslav’s face clearly as he returned to his apartment with one of the women after a public outing, intensifying calls for accountability.
Yaytseslav Deletes Ghana Videos and Goes Private
Amid the growing backlash, Vyacheslav Trahov took swift action:
He deleted the Ghana-related videos from his official TikTok account.
He made his TikTok profile — which reportedly had over 114,000 followers — private.
He changed his username from “yaytseslav_official” to a variation of his first name and another surname in an apparent attempt to distance himself from the scandal.
A review of his account now reportedly shows only videos filmed outside Ghana.
Social Media Ethics and Privacy Concerns
The Yaytseslav Ghana controversy has reignited broader discussions about:
Consent in digital content creation
Privacy rights in public and private spaces
Ethical boundaries for influencers
The monetization of personal encounters
The incident also highlights how quickly viral content can escalate into international controversy — and how public pressure can force creators to alter or remove content.
What Happens Next?
As of now, it remains unclear whether Ghanaian authorities will take legal action or conduct a formal investigation. Meanwhile, discussions continue online about digital safety, influencer responsibility, and the protection of individuals from non-consensual recordings.
The Yaytseslav case serves as a stark reminder of the power — and potential dangers — of social media in the modern digital era.
