Brand influencer Ogechi Ukonu, popularly known as Caramel Plugg, is facing intense backlash online after a Ghanaian woman publicly accused her of owing money and failing to deliver on a visa processing arrangement.
In a series of posts and voice notes currently circulating on social media, the Ghanaian lady detailed how Caramel Plugg allegedly collected funds from three individuals for visa-related services, only for the deal to collapse. According to the accuser, the influencer received approximately N2 million but has refused to refund the money despite multiple demands.
The woman further claimed that Caramel Plugg used the funds to finance an extravagant lifestyle in Singapore. She pointed to the influencer’s social media posts showcasing luxury Birkin bags, suggesting the money was spent on personal luxury rather than fulfilling the paid services.
Threat to Release Private Photos
In one of the widely shared voice notes, the Ghanaian lady stated that she had received private photos and videos of Caramel Plugg from third parties. She warned that she would release them at a specified time if the debt is not settled.
She added that she is willing to lose her own social media accounts over the matter, emphasizing her readiness to take drastic measures to recover the alleged debt.
Mixed Reactions from Fans and Netizens
The allegations have sparked heated discussions across social media platforms. Many users expressed concern over the source of Caramel Plugg’s lavish displays, particularly the Birkin bags she has frequently flaunted online. Some commenters demanded transparency and urged the influencer to address the claims.
Others advised the accuser against issuing threats and instead encouraged her to follow through with evidence if she truly has it. A number of social media users have indicated they will monitor the situation to see whether the threatened photos and videos are released.
However, a section of Caramel Plugg’s fans has come to her defense, arguing that the allegations are still unproven. They noted that the influencer continues to operate her brand and business activities without interruption.
As of now, Caramel Plugg has not publicly responded to the allegations. The situation remains ongoing, with many awaiting further developments in what has become a trending topic.
