Private photos and videos allegedly belonging to Ugandan socialite Kirabo Kisitu have gone viral on social media platforms and WhatsApp groups, igniting widespread discussion about online privacy and cyber harassment.
In the videos, a naked Kisitu is seen dancing suggestively while filming herself.
“This is insane,” one social media user commented.
The footage reportedly first appeared on Monday night and spread rapidly across various online platforms. It is still unclear whether the material was shared voluntarily or leaked without her consent.
This incident adds to a growing list of Ugandan celebrities and public figures who have had their private content exposed online, including socialites and singer Martha Kay, Shanitah Namuyimbwa, Zari Hassan, media personality Anita Fabiola, and others who have faced similar privacy controversies in the past.
Digital rights advocates have repeatedly warned that the non-consensual sharing of intimate images can cause victims significant humiliation, psychological distress, and long-term reputational damage.
Uganda’s laws offer protections against cyber harassment, offensive communication, and the unauthorized distribution of intimate material. Experts advise young people to avoid storing or sharing highly sensitive content digitally, to strengthen privacy settings on their devices and social media accounts, and to promptly report any unauthorized sharing to the authorities.
Authorities have stressed that the responsibility lies with those who unlawfully distribute such private content and have urged the public not to participate in its circulation.
