Kisitu Kirabo: Intimate Videos of the Influencer Shock the Internet

Kisitu Kirabo, a popular Rwandan influencer on TikTok and Instagram (@kisitukirabo), has been at the heart of a viral controversy since June 8, 2026. Known for her bold style, energetic dance videos, plus-size fashion content, and proudly displayed curves, she has seen private intimate photos and videos leak massively across social media, WhatsApp, Telegram, and various websites.

Born on August 20, this young content creator (likely in her twenties) from Rwanda (Kigali) rose to fame in East Africa thanks to her charisma, dance videos, and image as the “Kabasto Queen” or curvy queen. With hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok (over 650,000) and around 234,000 on Instagram, she represents a new generation of influencers who celebrate body positivity and self-confidence.

The Scandal and the Influencer’s Reaction

The private images and videos, which were never intended for the public, spread like wildfire. Kisitu Kirabo initially suggested they might be AI-generated content, before issuing a more complete statement in which she takes responsibility for the existence of the materials while strongly condemning their non-consensual distribution.

In her message, she expresses regret to her family, friends, and fans who have been affected: “These photos were taken and shared in complete trust and were never meant to be seen publicly. Their leak without my consent has caused me great pain…” She urges the public to immediately stop viewing and sharing these contents out of “basic human decency” and respect for privacy.

She is collaborating with authorities, particularly under the Computer Misuse Act in Uganda, which criminalizes this type of non-consensual sharing.

Divided Reactions Online

As is often the case in these situations, reactions have been mixed:

  • Empathy: Many internet users support her, emphasizing that she is a young woman whose privacy has been violated. Some call for her to be treated “like a sister” and denounce the cyberbullying.
  • Judgment and Memes: Others engage in mockery, body shaming (especially regarding her past body transformations, such as a BBL she had previously proudly owned), or comparisons with other influencers (Gloria Bugie, Shani Lips, Ava Peace, etc.).
  • The scandal has even temporarily “united” some Ugandans around the buzz, according to viral comments.

Broader Context

This is not the first scandal of its kind in East Africa. Similar cases (leaks of nudes, revenge porn) regularly affect influencers and spark debates on digital privacy protection, consent, and slut-shaming culture. Kisitu Kirabo had already made headlines for her aesthetic choices and body pride, previously stating: “It’s my body, not yours.”
